We are in search of a Lead Internal Audit Specialist to join our team in Aberdeen on a 12-month contract, with potential for extension. The primary responsibility will be to execute and oversee Internal Audits as outlined in the UK Annual Audit Plan, while also tracking the status of outstanding internal audit recommendations with relevant stakeholders. This role involves contributing to the development of the Internal Audit Annual Plan, identifying operational, risk-based, compliance, and corporate governance audits within the Exploration and Production sector. The Lead Internal Audit Specialist will be expected to lead or collaborate on internal audit projects and other assignments as requested by pertinent authorities or Senior Management. A robust understanding of regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and internal control frameworks is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proven experience within a corporate governance framework.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Auditing and Internal Auditing.
  • Familiarity with PowerBI and various data analysis methodologies.
  • Ability to manage relationships with stakeholders effectively.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting management reports to senior leadership.
  • Preferred background in the oil and gas sector, whether as an operator, service provider, or consultant.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Possession of a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Preferred certifications include Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
