Stores Operations Manager

Job Purpose: To ensure the efficient and secure processing of all documentation and goods related to the smooth operation of the Owens Group's warehouse facility. The warehouse facility is responsible for the safekeeping of parts for the fleet department to maintain company vehicles, including HGVs, trailers, and company vans.

Reports To: Group Purchasing & Facilities Manager

Working Hours: 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday

Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, ensuring that stock levels are optimized and that all goods are properly stored and secured.
  • Stock Control: Conduct regular stock checks and counts to ensure that all goods are accounted for and that any discrepancies are promptly investigated and resolved.
  • Documentation: Process and maintain all relevant documentation, including invoices, receipts, and delivery notes, to ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded and that all necessary records are maintained.
  • Supplier Relationships: Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, ensuring that all goods are delivered on time and that any issues are promptly addressed.
  • Warehouse Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively, and that all staff are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform all necessary administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and reporting, to ensure that all records are up-to-date and that all necessary information is readily available.

Requirements:

  • Education: Educated to NVQ / GCSE standard
  • Experience: Experience in a similar position is desirable but not essential
  • Qualifications: Warehousing & Stores Level 2 or 3 Qualified is desirable but not essential
  • Skills: Computer literacy (Microsoft Excel) Spreadsheets (basic), effective communication, negotiation, and team player skills
  • Driving License: Must have a valid UK Driving Licence
