About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Duty Manager to join our team at AF Blakemore & Son Ltd. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, improving customer satisfaction, and ensuring the smooth operation of our store.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Store Manager in leading and motivating a team of colleagues to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve sales targets.
  • Assist in developing and implementing store strategies to drive sales growth, improve customer satisfaction, and increase profitability.
  • Manage and coach colleagues to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to deliver excellent customer service and meet sales targets.
  • Carry out performance management and absence management as required.
  • Take overall responsibility for the store during Duty Manager shifts, ensuring a safe, legal, and high-performing environment.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of store policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Work closely with the Store Manager to identify and action opportunities to engage with and support the local community.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety, customer service, and sales standards.

Requirements:

  • Previous management or supervisor experience within a retail or similar fast-paced operation.
  • Committed to achieving and sustaining exceptional customer service standards.
  • Able to plan, organize, and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
  • Able to take appropriate action and make decisions.
  • Committed to promoting collaborative working.
  • Enthusiastic and flexible with a positive attitude.
  • Committed to developing own skills and applying learning to improve own performance.
