About the Role

This is a semi-skilled position that requires carrying out vehicle servicing and general duties in accordance with Central Engineering Standard Operating Procedures. Your main areas of responsibility will include routine vehicle servicing, supporting vehicle examiners and skilled staff, and carrying out general duties such as vehicle changeovers, cleaning, and attending to vehicles on the chassis wash program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine vehicle servicing and maintenance
  • Support vehicle examiners and skilled staff in carrying out vehicle repairs
  • Perform general duties such as vehicle changeovers, cleaning, and attending to vehicles on the chassis wash program
  • Maintain and develop technical skills as required for the role
Requirements
  • Minimum level 1 or level 2 NVQ in a mechanical field
  • Working experience in a car mechanics, van, bus, coach, HGV, or PSV capacity
  • Valid UK driver's license
  • Proven work experience of safe operations of workshop equipment such as hydraulic vehicle lifts, pressurized oil and waste systems, battery chargers and starters, trolley jacks, scaffolding, pressure wash and automatic washing equipment, headlamp alignment tester, hydraulic jacks and testing equipment, drilling machine, torque wrenches, pedestal grinders, and general portable equipment
