About the Role

The Service Assistant role is a semi-skilled position that involves carrying out vehicle servicing and general duties in accordance with our Central Engineering Standard Operating Procedures. Key responsibilities include routine vehicle servicing, supporting vehicle examiners and skilled staff, and carrying out general duties such as vehicle changeovers, cleaning, and attending to vehicles on the chassis wash program.

About You

  • Minimum level 1 or level 2 NVQ in a mechanical field is essential.
  • Working experience in a car mechanics, van, bus, coach, HGV, or PSV capacity is essential.
  • A valid UK driver's license is essential.
  • Proven work experience of safe operations of workshop equipment such as hydraulic vehicle lifts, pressurised oil and waste systems, battery chargers and starters, trolley jacks, scaffolding, pressure wash and automatic washing equipment, headlamp alignment tester, hydraulic jacks and testing equipment, drilling machine, torque wrenches, pedestal grinders, and general portable equipment.
  • A full PCV license and forklift truck license are required.
