About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our team at First Bus. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet of buses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex vehicle faults, including mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as servicing and inspections, to ensure vehicles are in good working order.
  • Collaborate with other technicians to resolve complex problems and improve vehicle performance.
  • Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries, using your expertise to quickly diagnose and repair issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest vehicle technologies and manufacturer recommendations to ensure our fleet remains safe and efficient.
Requirements
  • Minimum level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent in a relevant field, such as engineering or transportation.
  • Full Cat B license and a valid PCV license (or willingness to obtain).
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of vehicle systems and diagnostic techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues and management.
