About the Role

The Vehicle Service Assistant will be responsible for carrying out routine vehicle servicing and general duties in accordance with Central Engineering Standard Operating Procedures.

Main areas of responsibility include routine vehicle servicing, supporting vehicle examiners and skilled staff, and carrying out general duties such as vehicle changeovers, cleaning, and attending to vehicles on the chassis wash program.

About You

  • Minimum level 1 or level 2 NVQ in a mechanical field is essential.
  • Working experience in a car mechanics, van, bus, coach, HGV, or PSV capacity is essential.
  • A valid UK driver's license is essential.
  • Proven work experience of safe operations of workshop equipment such as hydraulic vehicle lifts, pressurized oil and waste systems, battery chargers, and starters.
  • A full PCV license and forklift truck license are required.

Working Hours and Location

38.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 06:00 - 14:00, at the Sheffield - Olive Grove depot.
