The Role: Support Worker for Older Adults

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our Community Mental Health Team specializing in older adults. This part-time role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide practical and emotional support to a caseload of older adults with diverse mental health needs, working under the guidance of qualified staff.
  • Assist service users in developing and implementing care plans tailored to their individual requirements.
  • Conduct wellbeing checks and offer companionship to individuals in their homes across North Manchester.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring confidentiality at all times.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • A genuine passion for supporting older adults with mental health needs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • NVQ Level 3 or higher in a relevant field.
  • Experience working within a community mental health setting.
  • Knowledge of later life issues and challenges.
