About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our Fostering Service as a Team Manager. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, high-performing, and cost-effective social work and placement services to children, young people, carers, and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the operation of the Fostering Service, including the Kinship agenda, to ensure compliance with national legislation and guidance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve outcomes for children and young people, working collaboratively with other service areas and partner agencies.
  • Manage the assessment, supervision, and support of foster carers within the legal framework and National Minimum Standards.
  • Continuously innovate practice using a strengths-based and solution-focused approach to further develop the services.
About You

We are looking for someone with excellent leadership skills, who can balance service priorities and work collaboratively with other service areas and partner agencies. You will have a good understanding of the legislative context of Safeguarding, Children in Care, Fostering, and Adoption, including the operational delivery of the Fostering and Adoption Permanence Panels.

You will be resilient and confident in balancing both the daily and longer-term aspirations for children in care and the growth and development of the fostering community. If you have a passion for improving outcomes for children and young people, then we would love to hear from you.
