About The Role

Compass Community School Aylward Park is a leading independent specialist school providing high-quality, child-centred education to pupils from 11 to 17 years of age in Leiston, Suffolk. Our school caters to children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) such as Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teaching and learning in a dynamic and therapeutic environment
  • Work closely with children 1:1 or in small groups to promote social skills and academic progress
  • Manage classroom resources and create engaging displays to support teaching and learning
  • Take children on educational trips and visits to enhance their learning experience
  • Develop strong relationships with children who struggle socially and provide emotional support
  • Participate in therapeutic training sessions and contribute to the development of the academic curriculum and extra-curricular offer
