About the Opportunity
The Travelers Companies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Development Underwriter to join our Birmingham Branch. This role is responsible for managing submissions, quotes, and binds for new business, negotiating terms, and driving results in a hybrid capacity with flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage profitability, growth, and retention of a book of business.
- Underwrite risks, actively target new business, and retention.
- Utilize technology platforms efficiently.
- Foster relationships with internal and external partners.
- Mentor less experienced underwriters and support team members.
Requirements
- Degree preferred.
- Underwriting experience required.
- Knowledge of local insurance market.
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- ACII qualification preferred.
- Experience in Property and Casualty underwriting.
- Full driving license required.
