Senior Development Underwriter Opportunity

STRIDE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT LTD is seeking an experienced Senior Development Underwriter to join their team in Birmingham. As a key member of the Branch Senior Team, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and leveraging strategic partner broker relationships to support renewal retention.

The Role

  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of in-appetite opportunities to meet new business targets
  • Manage a small book of larger and more complex key clients through the renewal process
  • Liaise with the Regional Underwriting Officer to obtain sign-off on large out-of-authority cases
  • Trade with key contacts in the market to promote company products and appetite
  • Support and develop less experienced colleagues to increase the skill level and experience of the branch team

The Candidate

  • Must be an experienced Senior Underwriter, Lead, or Trading Underwriter with a strong new business track record
  • Have an extensive network of key broker contacts to support trading activities
  • Be a solutions-focused individual who is a self-starter and able to work efficiently and effectively
  • Be comfortable with face-to-face trading with brokers
  • Have excellent technical insurance knowledge of both Property & Casualty elements
