Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Band 2 Patient Care Assistant to join our team, working 23 hours per week. This role is integral to our operations, supporting the multidisciplinary team in achieving specific rehabilitation objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the admission process for patients and support their families.
- Perform clinical tasks as directed by qualified senior staff, following competency assessments.
- Deliver delegated nursing care effectively.
- Ensure the provision of safe and efficient care.
- Identify areas for improvement in patient care.
- Support patients with daily living activities and collaborate with the therapy team for rehabilitation.
- Assist patients during meal times and maintain accurate food and fluid intake records.
- Help patients with personal hygiene and dressing.
- Facilitate patient mobility using appropriate equipment and liaise with physiotherapy staff.
- Communicate with nursing staff regarding patient observations and health checks.
- Conduct weekly patient assessments, including weight checks and equipment maintenance.
- Restock supplies as needed.
- Assist patients with toileting needs.
- Support patients in settling into bed and managing night-time care requirements.
- Adhere to all ward policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills
Essential:
- Experience working with adults in a care environment.
- Level 2 qualification in Care or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Flexibility and adaptability as a team member.
- Positive attitude and willingness to accept feedback.
Desirable:
- Nursing experience within a hospital or NHS setting.
- Basic IT skills.
