About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and accomplished Editor-in-Chief to lead our premier journal, Molecular Cell, in the field of molecular biology. As the chief editorial officer, you will be responsible for setting the journal's scientific scope and determining its editorial direction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to further refine and expand the journal's focus
  • Build and lead a team of scientific editors to ensure the quality and quantity of research articles published
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the advisory board and the broader molecular biology research community
  • Oversee day-to-day operations at the journal, including managing production workflows, marketing, and social media
  • Collaborate with editorial teams of relevant Cell Press journals to drive the journal's success

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in any area of molecular biology
  • At least 5 years of full-time editorial experience
  • Broad interest across the full spectrum of molecular biology research
  • Established network with the molecular biology research community
  • Strong project and people management skills
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Interest in engaging with the scientific community
