About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and accomplished Editor-in-Chief to lead our prestigious Molecular Cell journal. As a key member of our editorial team, you will be responsible for setting the scientific scope and determining the editorial direction of the journal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to further refine and expand the journal's focus
  • Build and lead a team of scientific editors to ensure the quality and quantity of research articles published
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the advisory board and the broader molecular biology research community
  • Manage day-to-day operations, including editorial workflows, production, and marketing
  • Collaborate with other editorial teams to define production workflows, marketing, social media, and website strategies

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in any area of molecular biology
  • At least 5 years of full-time editorial experience
  • Broad interest across the full spectrum of molecular biology research
  • Established network with the molecular biology research community
  • Strong project and people management skills
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Interest in engaging with the scientific community
