Job Title: Duty Manager

Job Summary:

Swissport is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Duty Manager to join our team at Heathrow Cargo. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our cargo handling and warehouse facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor the shift and work activities to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
  • Accountable for the production of accurate and detailed Handling Reports as and when required.
  • Maintain a strict cost control on labour and equipment, and have the foresight to plan ahead for fellow colleagues.
  • Manage all staff, utilizing available manpower and equipment resources to maximize productivity.
  • Monitor sickness on a shift-to-shift basis, and conduct sickness interviews as necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with Health & Safety, Training, and Quality requirements, ensuring statutory, regulatory, and company policy requirements are met.
  • Maintain excellent communication with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor and control the smooth operation of Reception.
  • Monitor and control site security in line with CAA and Company requirements.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • High School diploma or higher.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience within the industry.
  • Thorough working knowledge of Cargo, Warehouse, and Ramp processes.
  • Effective leadership, organisational, and communication skills, consistent with a very busy 24/7 Cargo Operation.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Operation Office function.
  • Good working knowledge of PC systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Customer focus and quality awareness with high standards of quality and service level goals.
  • Strong resource management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather.
