London, Greater London, United Kingdom IAG Loyalty Full time

Join IAG Loyalty on an exciting journey of innovation and growth. With over three decades of experience, we have evolved from a travel rewards leader to a key player in the loyalty sector, supporting major international airline loyalty programs with our global currency, Avios.

Our organization comprises three thriving sectors: Loyalty, Ventures, and Holidays. While each division operates uniquely, our collective mission remains consistent: to enhance the experiences of over 40 million customers worldwide.

As we embark on a transformative path, we are looking for a talented individual to join our Core Engineering team, which is at the forefront of designing our cloud infrastructure and establishing the standards and processes that guide our engineering teams.

The Platform Architecture & Sales Engineering team plays a pivotal role in shaping our cloud architecture and ensuring that our engineering teams and partners are aligned with best practices. This team is responsible for a variety of tasks, including defining architectural standards and enhancing partner experiences.

Acting as a center of excellence, our team collaborates closely with product teams and external partners, ensuring that well-defined architectural patterns are implemented across all products. We take pride in overseeing the quality of the solutions delivered on our platform.

Our architectural function is crucial in guiding technology decisions as our platform evolves to accommodate a diverse product landscape. We also provide architectural guidance for strategic initiatives throughout the organization, offering technical leadership as needed.

We are seeking a Platform Architect to propel our architectural vision forward. This role involves refining our architectural processes, consulting with external partners on integrations, and working alongside product and commercial teams to align technical capabilities with business priorities.

As a technical leader, you will engage and influence stakeholders across various departments, product teams, and partner management. Your contributions will be vital to strategic platform initiatives, providing solution architecture and technical guidance to foster continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities will also encompass leading best practices in architecture, such as domain modeling and reviews, to enhance team capabilities. We are looking for a candidate with strong communication skills, a passion for innovation, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to our roadmap.

Key Contributions:

This senior technical position is ideal for someone with a robust technical background, previously serving as a Solutions Architect or Technical Lead. The ideal candidate will be:

  • A collaborative team player with outstanding communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proactive problem solver who embraces challenges and takes ownership of issues from start to finish.
  • A self-driven individual who takes pride in delivering high-quality, well-documented solutions.
  • An innovative thinker eager to explore new ideas and adopt cutting-edge technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Strong background in Software Engineering and Architecture.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cloud architectures and design patterns.
  • Familiarity with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Experience with domain modeling best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Proven stakeholder management abilities and the capacity to influence at all levels.
  • Proficient in creating high-quality technical and non-technical documentation.
  • Previous experience in an agile, product-focused environment.

If you are ready to make a significant impact and embrace a journey of continuous growth, we encourage you to consider this opportunity. Your unique perspective and talents are what we value most at IAG Loyalty.

What We Offer:

  • Annual Bonus based on Company & Individual Performance
  • Company Pension of 9% (6% company/3% employee)
  • Private Health Care with Bupa
  • Annual Bookable Travel Concession for employees and dependents after 12 months of service
  • Unlimited standby and premium standby fares for you and your nominees on the full BA network and numerous partner airlines
  • Exciting global travel industry discounts, including flights, hotels, rail, cruises, and tour operators
  • Discounts on BA flights and holidays from day one for you, your friends, and family
  • 20 days working from abroad in Europe allowed per calendar year
