Head of Enterprise Architecture

Boston Consulting Group is seeking a seasoned professional to assume the role of Director of Enterprise Architecture. This position is pivotal in steering the modernization of our architectural framework and defining the strategic technological roadmap for our comprehensive digital ecosystem utilized by BCG professionals and clients worldwide, continuously throughout the year.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The core focus of this role involves orchestrating the implementation of Enterprise Architecture across BCG's entire operational landscape. You will collaborate with fellow architects at both Director and Senior Director levels, ensuring the delivery of strategic insights and guidance to the Digital Leadership team and C-Suite executives regarding current and future investments aimed at achieving optimal architectural alignment with our business objectives.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE
- Enterprise Architecture and Technology Strategy: Proficient in business strategy formulation, technology strategy development, capability modeling, business gap analysis, technology assessments, and crafting business cases.
- Effective Communication: Skilled in engaging with stakeholders at all organizational levels, from C-Suite executives to technical teams, with the ability to create compelling narratives and presentations.
- Leadership and Vision: Inspire teams to envision and realize efficiencies through the adoption of modern technologies such as GenAI, APIs, and cloud solutions.
- Execution and Accountability: Demonstrate a disciplined approach to execution, driving teams to deliver results while maintaining autonomy and determination.
- Problem Solving: Address complex and ambiguous challenges by fostering collaboration across teams to develop comprehensive Enterprise Architectures.
- Hands-On Approach: Actively engage in the execution of initiatives, producing high-quality architectural documentation and securing agreement at various organizational levels.
- Technological Enthusiasm: Maintain a strong knowledge base of contemporary computing paradigms, demonstrating expertise in areas such as domain-driven design, microservices, and cloud security.
- Value Stream Optimization: Recognize the role of architecture within the value stream, striving for efficiency to enhance velocity and mitigate risks.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in leading and managing the enterprise architecture of a substantial platform ecosystem, including oversight of value, opportunities, and total cost.
- Proven track record of independently:
- Planning a global platform estate across various dimensions including technology and cost.
- Leading investment decisions at both portfolio and individual technology levels.
- Driving decisions to completion within a complex organizational structure.
- Preparing and presenting materials to senior leadership, including C-Suite executives.
COLLABORATION
You will report directly to the IT Executive Director for Enterprise Architecture and work within the central Enterprise Architecture team, playing a crucial role in influencing and guiding the architects across the digital organization.
