About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our Carbon Solutions team in Slough. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage onsite retrofit projects to ensure timely and budget-friendly delivery.
  • Collaborate with contractors and suppliers to guarantee project success.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with the programme of works, adhering to the highest standards of health and safety.
  • Oversee the installation of energy-efficient measures and ensure buildings meet sustainability standards.
  • Manage Retrofit Works, working closely with Building Control regulations and requirements.
  • Work with various stakeholders, including clients, residents, and internal teams, to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Generate, review, and achieve programme performance, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Be organized and proficient in the use of various ICT systems, regulations, and legislation.
  • Adapt to changing circumstances and have a willing attitude to work on other departmental work streams.
  • Involve residents in the overall process, ensuring they are aware of current situations.
  • Develop effective working relationships with residents, direct labour operatives, sub-contractors, clients, building control, and the local fire authority.
  • Act as the representative and face of Cardo Group, providing clear and concise communication on progress and activity.
  • Take ownership of customer/resident complaints, dealing with them through to completion and sharing lessons learned with the project team and senior management.
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation skills, delivering points in a professional manner, treating others with respect.
  • Update systems to ensure all documents relating to the role are saved and ready for auditing in strict accordance with Cardo procedures.
  • Control project execution plans and deliver structured updates to the client.
  • Manage, review, and monitor risk, program, plant, quality, cost, and promote good Project governance through Cardo Group's policies and procedures.
  • Understand and work within team targets and the Cardo South business plan.
  • Liaise with the project Retrofit Co-Ordinator to ensure works are compliant.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years previous site management experience.
  • Sound knowledge of the social housing sector, including planned works programmes and maintenance projects.
  • Experience working on JCT / NEC or cost-plus contracts.
  • Sound knowledge of the Construction industry.
  • Experience of working in multiple refurbishment project settings/projects.
  • Sound knowledge of section 20 leaseholder consultation and housing legislation.
  • Experience of multiple communication between supply chain partners, clients, residents, and internal staff.
  • Experience of delivering successful outcomes to complaints.
Qualifications
  • A valid SMSTS qualification.
  • CSCS card in site management.
  • NVQ level 6 in site management/construction.
  • A recognised building/trade qualification.
  • Asbestos Awareness Certification.
  • A current valid driving license.
  • Recognised qualifications and/or work experience regarding Fire Assessment surveying and remedial works.
