Purpose of the Role
The primary objective of this position is to:
- Ensure the safe and timely execution of projects.
- Communicate project deliverables, dependencies, and risks to the Head of Projects/Project Manager and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify and relay project opportunities to the Head of Projects (HoP)/Project Manager (PM) from a designated portfolio of maintenance contracts.
- Engage with key stakeholders to understand their needs and provide insights on the feasibility of their projects, establishing a trusted advisory role.
- Comprehend the complete scope of project works, including budgetary requirements and desired profit margins.
- Operate within the existing CDM framework, primarily assuming the role of principal contractor.
- Recognize, mitigate, and manage all statutory and commercial risks associated with the projects supervised.
- Ensure that QHSE practices and processes are thoroughly integrated into each project.
- Adhere to project management policies and procedures consistently.
- Oversee the daily operational aspects of the projects, including subcontractor management and site supervision.
- Collaborate closely with relevant stakeholders to facilitate effective and efficient project implementation.
- Ensure that customer acceptance is documented and aligns with project plans.
- Maintain project documentation to ensure it is complete, current, and properly stored.
- Identify and communicate project opportunities to the HoP/PM.
- Enhance visibility and presence on customer sites to leverage opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to identify project opportunities and utilize case studies to promote business, including hosting key decision-makers for site tours.
- Cultivate strong, effective working relationships with clients and site teams.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of each client's business, organization, and objectives.
- Foster enduring relationships with client personnel to strengthen ties.
- Communicate effectively with clients to ascertain needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
- Exercise sound judgment in all project communications, ensuring timely updates to key stakeholders, including the team, clients, and management.
- Ensure that projects meet both internal and client expectations regarding quality, budget, timelines, and strategic goals.
- Grasp pricing models and billing procedures.
- Assist the Project Manager in managing scope changes through client change orders, internal change orders, phased delivery, or other methods to ensure projects meet timelines, scope, budget, and strategic expectations.
- Monitor and report hours and expenses for each project.
- Participate in project reviews to assess profitability, revenue, margins, etc.
- Ensure all parties involved in project delivery comprehend the scope of work to meet customer specifications.
- Guarantee that each project aligns with QHSE processes, including the Construction Phase Plan, ensuring all personnel possess the required skills.
- Identify, track, manage, and mitigate risks on each project, escalating issues as necessary to minimize impacts on quality, budget, and timelines.
- Ensure that supply partners on-site are informed of all necessary items for project files, health and safety, toolbox talks, RAMS, site audits, commissioning, O&M manuals, permits to work, etc.
- Be present on-site for project works, including any out-of-hours requirements.
- Ensure all variations to the works are documented and reported to the HoP/PM.
- Confirm that all O&M manuals are complete and accessible prior to practical completion.
- Ability to plan and organize labor, equipment, and work schedules.
- Strong influencing and negotiation capabilities.

- Recognized technical qualification in construction, mechanical, electrical, or a related field.
- Business-level proficiency in written and verbal literacy and numeracy.
- APM certification.

- SMSTS certification.
- IOSH certification.
- ILM2 - Principles of Team Leading.
