About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Automation Engineer to join our Device Application team at Medtronic. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our device application software.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop software system automated test frameworks to test the software in an integration environment and on the hardware itself.
- Contribute to the development process by providing code reviews and suggesting improvements for development and processes.
- Investigate, debug, and resolve issues reported from testing and support.
- Participate in the relevant security and regulatory compliance processes.
- Develop robust and secure-by-design software fit for a Class II medical device.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer, Electrical, Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- Good experience programming with C++.
- Good Unix/Linux knowledge.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks like GTest, and Boost Test, or similar.
- Experience with Docker and containerized development/testing.
- Flexible - able to independently solve problems as they arise, but comfortable asking for help when needed.
- Comfortable with complexity - able to think through consequences of changes in a highly interconnected ecosystem over varied use environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python.
- Experience with yocto/buildroot or other similar build systems.
- Experience working with deployed hardware systems and remote device management.
- Knowledge of video encoding/codecs and related tooling (ffmpeg).
- Experience with AWS.
- Understanding of core security concepts.
- Experience with software development for medical products or other safety-critical applications.
