Job Summary

Magellan Aerospace Limited is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in Blackpool, UK. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating machining cells, setting up machine tools, and ensuring the production of high-quality aircraft components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate 2, 4, and 5-axis machine tools to produce complex aircraft components.
  • Set up and operate machine tools, ensuring accurate and efficient production.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers, and colleagues to ensure smooth production processes.
  • Perform component changeovers, de-burring, and cleaning tasks as required.
  • Route work to next operations as per work instructions or team leader direction.
  • Resolve machining problems with minimum supervision and escalate issues to Shift Leader, Team Leader, or Manager as needed.
  • Provide accurate handover information to next shift on current status and any issues arisen.
  • Ensure all job card documentation is filled in correctly before moving onto next operation.
  • Work in line with all company requirements, including following work-to lists and set up sheets.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, complying with all risk assessments and procedures in line with company Health and Safety policy.
  • Actively support and contribute to the continuous improvement programme and lean manufacturing.
Requirements
  • Good general education.
  • Time served recognized engineering Apprenticeship, minimum of City & Guilds/NVQ in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of 3, 4, and 5-axis machining experience.
  • Knowledge of Controls, Health and Safety, and Aerospace manufacturing experience (desirable).
