If this resonates with you, we invite you to explore an opportunity with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) as a HR Service Partner. We are eager to connect with individuals who share our vision.

The HR service center plays a pivotal role within the People, Capability & Change team, delivering essential transactional services throughout the employee lifecycle. Our focus is on outstanding customer service and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring we offer high-quality guidance and consultancy.

We aim to cultivate a talent pool at the HR partner (HEO) level and will fill roles from our reserve list as opportunities arise. This is an ongoing recruitment effort, and we will conduct sifting and interviews regularly.

Role Responsibilities

We seek HR professionals with a background in operational and dynamic environments. This role offers a chance to enhance your stakeholder engagement capabilities while collaborating with a dedicated and enthusiastic team.

As a HR Service Partner, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the operational workload within your team, ensuring optimal service delivery in line with service level agreements.
  • Establishing robust and credible relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external, from diverse backgrounds, sharing expertise and resources. You will specifically partner with a Director General group to facilitate excellent services throughout the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding.
  • Proactively addressing challenges and providing expert advice to align with business priorities.
  • Monitoring and enhancing the performance and delivery of HR services.
  • Continuously seeking opportunities to improve HR services, minimizing bureaucracy and leveraging technology to streamline processes. You will adopt a forward-thinking approach, fostering a culture of solutions and innovation.
  • Designing targeted interventions with HR Business Partners to address trends within teams.
  • Leading thematic projects related to onboarding, new working methods, payroll, and pensions.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A proven history of working in an HR operational team within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to identify trends and issues, with knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement abilities, with the confidence to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across organizational boundaries.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, with the capability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent line management skills and the resilience to thrive in a team-oriented environment under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to adapt your approach to suit various audiences.
  • A proactive and positive attitude, demonstrating self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills, maintaining composure while managing conflicting priorities and demands.
  • A commitment to identifying and implementing improvements, adding value to the expert advice and recommendations provided.

Benefits

In addition to a competitive salary, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Learning and development opportunities tailored to your role.
  • A flexible working environment.
  • A culture that promotes inclusion and diversity.
  • A generous employer contribution to your pension scheme.
