Role Overview
As a Support Specialist, you will offer emotional guidance to our young individuals and assist with everyday tasks such as personal hygiene, dressing, and attending educational activities. During weekend shifts, your time will be filled with exciting outings - think amusement parks, bowling venues, cinemas, and wildlife parks. The joy and laughter will make your work feel more like play.
While the role is filled with enjoyable moments, it also presents challenges, as our facilities accommodate young individuals with autism, learning disabilities, and various social, emotional, and mental health needs. Our Support Specialists often express that the strong bonds and unforgettable experiences created with the young people far outweigh these challenges. Witnessing a young person overcome obstacles and make progress is incredibly fulfilling.
