Job Title: Education Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Support Assistant to join our team at North Hill House, an independent specialist day school for children and young people with high functioning autistic spectrum disorders.

About the Role:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering educational activities and assisting children with their work
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development
  • Establish positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, demonstrating a caring and empathetic approach
  • Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance student outcomes

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a classroom setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, demonstrating resilience and a patient approach
