Position Overview

Dakota Hotels is on the lookout for a detail-oriented and commercially savvy finance expert to join our team as a Financial Insights Analyst. This pivotal role will report directly to the Head of Commercial Finance.

CONTRACT DETAILS AND COMPENSATION

This position offers a permanent contract with a commitment of 40 hours per week. The role is primarily office-based, with the flexibility to work remotely for up to two days each week. The annual salary for this position ranges from £33,000 to £35,000, depending on the candidate's relevant experience and expertise, along with a performance-based bonus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will engage in a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing data-driven decision-making and the overall commercial viability of the organization. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough analyses of financial performance to support both medium and long-term strategic planning.
  • Collaborating with hotel operations teams to pinpoint growth opportunities and areas for performance enhancement.
  • Performing weekly performance assessments to diagnose results and provide insightful recommendations.
  • Working alongside senior management on critical areas such as budgeting, capital expenditures, and resource management.
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive reporting dashboards to track key performance indicators across various business functions.
  • Preparing weekly and monthly revenue and sales reports, contributing to the creation of analytical reports and presentations.
  • Gaining a deep understanding of all relevant organizational systems to improve reporting processes and system integrations.
  • Assisting the revenue team with extensive data analysis to identify trends, forecast future revenue, and optimize pricing strategies for enhanced profitability.
  • Collaborating with the Data Analyst to refine and automate reporting processes, while also undertaking additional analyses as directed by senior finance leadership.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A minimum of 12 months of experience in a financial analyst capacity, with a preference for candidates with a commercial background.
  • At least two years of experience in finance or analysis roles involving data preparation and insight delivery.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, with the ability to manage complex datasets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying financial concepts to non-financial colleagues.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and the ability to identify key insights from complex data.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving aimed at maximizing profitability.
  • Experience in hospitality or retail settings is advantageous.
  • A finance-related degree or equivalent qualifications is preferred.
