Role Overview

As a Renal Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high standards of holistic care and service to patients using the nursing model implemented on the unit. This includes providing safe haemodialysis treatment as per the prescription. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and with external organizations and hospital trusts to promote effective communication and patient-centered care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, individualized care while promoting patient-focused care.
  • Mentor and assist team members in the team.
  • Provide safe haemodialysis treatment in line with patient prescription.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and with external organizations and hospital trusts.
  • Promote and demonstrate effective communication at all times with patients, users, and providers to the service.
  • Adhere to company procedures, guidelines, and policies and assist in implementation and review.
  • Continuously develop knowledge and skills relevant to delivering high-quality care to renal patients.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to evidence-based practice and assist in evaluation of the evidence to improve and develop patient care.

Person Specification

  • NMC Registered Nurse
  • Experience in renal nursing and dialysis is essential
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Good interpersonal skills, friendly and outgoing, flexible
  • Able to work effectively within a team
