Job Title: Senior Building Surveyor

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Location: Flexible working across different patches

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Surveyor to join our team at AWD online. As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing a team of surveyors and overseeing the development and delivery of Cyclical Maintenance Programs, including Major Works projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and undertake desktop surveys to record and capture information on the Group's building stock
  • Produce detailed analysis and recommendations for program building
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators and undertake regular reviews with Contractors
  • Consult with tenants, customers, and staff to design projects that incorporate their views
  • Identify and implement controls to monitor and report on key areas such as cost, program, health & safety, resident satisfaction, and risk
  • Plan and manage projects to agreed service levels, ensuring works meet the Group's quality requirements and stakeholders' expectations
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and IT systems are followed and identify areas for improvement
  • Promote effective team working and development of staff, providing technical, regulatory, and financial direction
  • Coach and mentor team members
  • Provide accurate cost information for Leasehold Department to prepare Section 20 Notices, Service Charges, and/or Sinking Fund schedules
  • Assist with Section 20 consultation process and represent Property Services at meetings and hearings

Requirements:

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English (Grades A*- C)
  • ONC/HNC in building surveying or similar discipline
  • Well-developed level of technical building knowledge
  • Experience or good awareness of Energy Efficiency programs
  • Good awareness of risk management
  • Ability to manage costs, budgets, and develop and implement control measures
  • Forward and strategic thinking with the ability to offer initiatives and solutions to improve service delivery
  • Good understanding of building regulations, statutory frameworks, and compliance
  • Ability to motivate, develop, coach, and lead staff
