Nursing Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Consultant to join our team at NELFT NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our infection prevention and control (IPC) service, ensuring that our patients and staff receive the highest level of care in a safe and healthy environment.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Governance
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the IPC service, ensuring alignment with the Trust's values and objectives.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with national and local standards.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve IPC practices and reduce the risk of infection transmission.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions to address these.
- Design and deliver education and training programs for staff to enhance their knowledge and skills in IPC.
- Develop and implement training strategies to ensure that all staff are equipped to provide high-quality care in a safe and healthy environment.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including staff, patients, and external partners.
- Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and families to ensure that they are informed and engaged in IPC practices.
- Ensure that the IPC service is compliant with national and local standards, including the Health and Social Care Act 2015.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of IPC practices and make recommendations for improvement.
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field, such as infection prevention and control.
- Proven experience in a leadership role, with a track record of improving IPC practices and reducing the risk of infection transmission.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, patients, and external partners.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
