About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist in Eating Disorders, you will be responsible for providing medical expertise and leadership to our Eating Disorders Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical input to the development of treatment plans for patients with eating disorders.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with eating disorders.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment protocols for patients with eating disorders.
  • Conduct regular audits and evaluations to ensure the quality of care provided to patients.
  • Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  • Provide education and training to healthcare professionals on eating disorders and their treatment.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to eating disorders.
Requirements
  • Registration with the General Medical Council and on the Specialist Register.
  • CCT, CESR, or within 6 months of expected CCT date.
  • Meets Royal College of Psychiatrists criteria for appointment to the post of Consultant.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Postgraduate degree in psychiatry MRC Psych or equivalent.
  • Experience of clinical research methods with published research.
  • Experience in organising educational activities.
