About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist in Eating Disorders, you will be responsible for providing medical expertise and leadership to our team, working closely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive assessment and management of complex and co-morbid presentations, including eating disorder and non-eating disorder psychopathology.
  • Lead in the monitoring and treatment of the physical complications of eating disorders in collaboration with other health professionals.
  • Supervise the team in charge of the medical monitoring and management of high-risk patients.
  • Provide psychiatric input to the development of appropriate pathways in and out of acute care settings for ED patients.
  • Assess and manage risk, including vulnerability, suicide risk, risks to health and safety, and risk of harm to others.
Requirements
  • Registration with the General Medical Council and on the Specialist Register.
  • CCT, CESR, or within 6 months of expected CCT date.
  • Meets Royal College of Psychiatrists criteria for appointment to the post of Consultant.
