Job Summary

MacGregor Black is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team in a leading FMCG business. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned maintenance, troubleshoot breakdowns, and execute line change-overs to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the engineering department's strategic plan, aligning with the company's overall vision.
  • Monitor and maintain production Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to meet site Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements within the engineering environment, driving efficiency and cost savings.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, statutory regulations, and factory-wide systems for health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support capital engineering projects, ensuring timely and effective execution.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with peers and stakeholders, building credibility and trust within the organization.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in FMCG manufacturing, with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Educated to HNC level or equivalent, or time-served in a relevant trade.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is highly desirable.

Working Arrangements

This is a permanent role, working a 3-shift pattern (weekly alternating days, lates, and nights) with a competitive salary of circa £42,000.
