About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Intervention Lead Trainer to join our team at East London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Safety Intervention team, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing a comprehensive training strategy that aligns with national policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a Trust training strategy on Safety Intervention in line with national policies and standards.
  • Lead and coordinate staff training needs analysis and contribute to the Trust's education strategy.
  • Provide statutory Safety Intervention training to Trust staff.
  • Ensure an adequate program of SI courses is offered to meet Trust compliance reports and training needs.
  • Liaise with clinical areas, education providers, universities, and organizations.
  • Maintain an up-to-date Database of staff attendance on Trust SI courses.
  • Develop and maintain policies for Safety Intervention, including physical restraint.
  • Monitor the performance of in-house SI trainers and ensure high training standards.
  • Provide feedback on staff training levels and support areas following incidents.
  • Continuously develop training materials and reflect best practices.
  • Ensure SI courses are conducted safely and effectively.
Requirements
  • Hold a current mental health or learning disability nursing registration with NMC.
  • Clinical practice experience in mental health and/or learning disability services.
  • Experience at a management level.
  • Computer literate with MS Office and PowerPoint experience.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Good time management and ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of current best practices and guidelines in SI training.
