Research Assistant/Associate in Quantum Dot-on-Silicon Photonics

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant/Associate to join our team in the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge, to work on Quantum Dot-on-Silicon photonic circuits as part of the UK EPSRC QUDOS project.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out research on Quantum Dot-on-Silicon PICs, developing QUDOS building blocks, and collaborating with industry partners. The role requires a strong background in photonic integrated circuits, device fabrication, and optical communication link design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on Quantum Dot-on-Silicon PICs and develop QUDOS building blocks
  • Collaborate with industry partners to develop photonic integrated circuits
  • Design and test photonic devices and optical communication links
  • Contribute to the development of the QUDOS project
Requirements
  • PhD in Electronic Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Experience in photonic integrated circuits, device fabrication, and optical communication link design
  • Strong publishing track record and ability to work in a team
What We Offer
