Research Scientist in QD-on-Silicon PICs

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Assistant/Associate to join our team in the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge. The successful candidate will work on QD-on-Silicon photonic circuits as part of the UK EPSRC QUDOS project.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct research on QD-on-Silicon PICs and develop new technologies for photonic integration.
- Work with collaborators to develop QUDOS building blocks that involve Si, SiN, and III-V QD-on-Si.
- Develop a temperature-insensitive, low-reflectance, defect-free coupling interface between the III-V area and Si waveguides.
- Design and test photonic devices and circuits.
- Collaborate with industry partners and contribute to the development of new photonic technologies.
- PhD in Electronic Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Experience in photonic simulation software, such as Lumerical and device fabrication.
- Relevant experience in photonic integrated circuits in PhD/postdoc/job.
- Good publishing track record and ability to work in a team.
Salary ranges: Research Assistant: £31,396 - £33,966; Research Associate: £36,024 - £44,263.
