  • Monitor and report on student progress, identifying any areas of concern and contributing to regular reviews and assessments.
  • Encourage the development of social skills and positive relationships among students.
  • Support the delivery of the curriculum by preparing resources and adapting learning materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Accompany students on educational visits, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

  • A strong understanding of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and the impact these can have on learning and behaviour.
  • Experience in behaviour management, with the ability to implement effective strategies to support students with challenging behaviours.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or a related field (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond flexibly to the needs of the students.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Desirable Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with students with additional needs, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic approaches, such as Restorative Practices or Trauma-Informed Care.

Personal Attributes:
