About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our team at Polaris Community. As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and support to students with complex ASC & SEMH needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons within the national curriculum, tailored to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Support the class team in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social and emotional well-being.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and collaborating with colleagues to develop targeted interventions.
  • Supervise students during non-classroom activities, including extracurricular events and school trips, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering a sense of community and promoting positive outcomes.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Relevant teaching qualification to degree level
  • Previous experience in teaching students with SEN, preferably in an educational setting
  • Proven ability in behavior management and techniques
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check
