As a key member of the commercial division, you will be immersed in a dynamic environment. The Procurement Assistant position is designed to assist the Senior Buyer in curating an attractive selection of high-value products for our clientele.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to launch your career in buying within a fast-paced setting. It is a newly established position aimed at supporting the introduction of innovative technologies and in-demand products. We seek an individual capable of working autonomously and possessing strong business insight due to the rapid product refresh cycles.

To foster your professional growth, you will have the chance to pursue a Level 4 apprenticeship in Buying & Merchandising, which can commence after three months of joining the team (subject to eligibility).

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in managing supplier partnerships aligned with the category strategy
  • Choosing and negotiating product assortments and pricing
  • Monitoring competitive landscape to establish market-driven pricing
  • Evaluating trading performance and suggesting strategies to enhance business outcomes
  • Supporting the Senior Buyer in negotiating product assortments – including cost pricing, additional terms, exclusivity, distribution, and stock availability
  • Setting product pricing in accordance with agreed category CPI targets

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a buying capacity (as an Assistant Buyer or Administrator) with a solid understanding of technical products
  • Outstanding communication and relationship management skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and numerical abilities with sound judgment
  • Robust commercial awareness and an understanding of customer needs
  • A degree in Marketing, Merchandising, Retail, or Business
