Your responsibilities

In this role, you will be instrumental in driving positive outcomes for the organization through your enthusiasm, purpose, and commitment. Throughout the 2-year program, you will rotate through various aspects of procurement and supplier management, gaining a holistic understanding of the industry. Your duties will involve assisting procurement managers and senior buyers in implementing sourcing strategies, conducting research and analysis within your category, and supporting the management of key suppliers. You will collaborate across departments, ensuring alignment with Sainsbury's Procurement and Supplier Management Policy. Your ability to prioritize tasks, exhibit a growth mindset, cultivate relationships with stakeholders, and think innovatively will be key to your success. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to achieving business goals while upholding the values of integrity and accountability.

Understanding Property at Sainsbury's

The Property division consists of two main areas: Construction and Facilities Management. In this role, you will focus on Facilities Management, which encompasses both our physical assets (such as stores and depots) and our services (like cleaning and maintenance). You will have a remarkable opportunity to influence the development of these contracts, collaborating with suppliers to enhance service delivery. Importantly, our Property function is central to our operations, allowing you to directly impact both colleague and customer experiences.

Candidate profile

As an Assistant Buyer, you are a motivated and ambitious individual with a keen interest in procurement and supplier management. You are eager to understand the broader business landscape and are committed to building a successful career in procurement. With excellent organizational skills and project management experience, you effectively juggle multiple priorities and deliver results. Your proficiency in data analysis enables you to derive meaningful insights, helping you recognize trends and make informed decisions. Essential qualifications
  • Experience in project management with strong organizational skills to balance multiple priorities.
