Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will be pivotal in delivering excellent results for the organization through your enthusiasm, purpose, and resolve. Throughout the 2-year program, you will rotate through various aspects of procurement and supplier management, gaining a well-rounded perspective of the field. Your duties will encompass assisting procurement managers and senior buyers in implementing sourcing strategies, conducting research and analysis within your category, and aiding in the management of key suppliers. You will collaborate across departments, ensuring alignment with Sainsbury's Procurement and Supplier Management Policy. Your ability to prioritize tasks, exhibit a growth mindset, foster relationships with stakeholders, and think innovatively will be crucial to your success. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to achieving business goals and uphold the values of integrity and accountability in all your actions.

Understanding Property at Sainsbury's

The Property division consists of two main areas: Construction and Facilities Management. In this role, you will initially focus on Facilities Management, which encompasses both our physical assets (such as stores and depots) and our services (like cleaning and pest control). This position offers a remarkable opportunity to develop these contracts while collaborating with our suppliers to enhance their effectiveness. Importantly, our Property function is central to our operations, meaning your work will directly influence both colleague and customer experiences.

Essential Qualifications
  • Experience in project management with a proven ability to balance multiple priorities and demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
  • A genuine interest in Procurement and Supplier Management, with a desire to develop a career in this field and an understanding of broader business operations.
  • Demonstrable experience in working with data, transforming it into insights to comprehend trends and commercial implications.
