We are in search of a Field Service Technician to be based in our Aberdeen location.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently carry out Field Service tasks such as overhauls, repairs, and basic troubleshooting. Familiarize yourself with local work instructions for component overhauls and ensure compliance. Conduct all on-site activities in accordance with site safety regulations and the Company's Health and Safety commitments. Collaborate closely with the On-Site Team Leader/Service Coordinator to provide updates on work progress and ensure service deadlines are met. Engage with customers on-site, addressing inquiries and technical questions. Proactively recommend and promote available products and solutions to clients. Ensure that all timesheets (signed by customers) and expense reports are submitted weekly. Submit precise and high-quality service reports within 48 hours of returning from assignments. Maintain a positive and adaptable attitude when assisting Company staff with any additional duties as required. Execute all tasks in a manner that maximizes satisfaction for both internal and external stakeholders within the employee's control. Be prepared to undertake additional responsibilities as necessary, which may arise from changing circumstances, without altering the general nature or level of responsibility of the position.Qualifications:
A BSc degree in Engineering and/or a minimum of 3 years of proven experience in field service work involving the installation of mechanical, electrical, and auxiliary equipment. Experience with Wärtsilä's products is advantageous. Awareness and readiness to handle mechanical and electrical troubleshooting tasks on engines, auxiliary systems, and service products. Strong understanding of technical documentation, drawings, and schematic diagrams (e.g., pneumatic and electrical systems). Willingness to travel and work in various locations, including offshore (up to 200 days per year). Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written.Why Choose Wärtsilä?
