About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist to join our Medical Inpatient Physiotherapy team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a Specialist Physiotherapist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality physiotherapy services to patients across a range of clinical areas, including oncology, haematology, infectious diseases, renal, and palliative care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat patients with a range of conditions, including acute respiratory needs, and develop treatment plans to meet their individual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Supervise and train junior staff, including physiotherapy students and support workers.
  • Contribute to the development of the physiotherapy service, including the implementation of evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in on-call and weekend working, as well as late shifts, to ensure the provision of 24/7 physiotherapy services.
Requirements
  • State registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Physiotherapist.
  • Postgraduate training relevant to the area of specialism.
  • Experience of working in an acute inpatient setting, with a focus on respiratory care.
  • Ability to communicate complex information to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Leadership and management skills, with experience of supervising and training junior staff.
