Neurosciences Physiotherapy Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic paediatric physiotherapist to join our team as a Highly Specialist Physiotherapist in Paediatric Neurosciences. This is a 9-month contract to support maternity leave, working predominantly with children who have neurological and oncology conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with other therapists in the Children's Hospital and the wider multi-disciplinary team to provide high-quality care to patients.
- Support band 5 and band 6 physiotherapists with teaching and training, as well as managing your own complex caseload.
- Collaborate with the Neuro Physiotherapy Clinical Specialist and Band 7 peers within the neurosciences team to ensure effective service delivery.
- Work flexibly across seven days to support weekends, Bank Holidays, and out-of-hours respiratory rosters.
- Able to work flexibly across the Trust and on weekend rota.
- Maintain competence in respiratory care where appropriate.
- Able to handle and move complex patients safely and in a way that promotes rehabilitation.
- Able to use and/or manoeuvre a range of medical devices, including handling/assistive and anthropometric equipment.
- Able to plan the delivery of a service for a specialist area with variable capacity and fluctuating demand.
- Able to organise and plan the activity of staff and self.
- Analysing information from clinical assessments and making judgements about appropriate interventions for highly complex patients.
- Able to discuss treatment options and recommend best course of intervention to patients and carers.
- Wide-ranging and extensive experience of working within the specialist area.
- Knowledge of current best practice within a clinical specialty.
- Diploma or degree in a relevant qualification.
- Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC) registration.
- Recognised post-graduate training relevant to the specialty, preferably including MSc or completed modules.
