About the Role

The Industrial Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to promote the union's bargaining, campaigning, and organizing agenda. This will involve working closely with members, activists, and other stakeholders to identify and address key issues affecting the workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote the union's bargaining, campaigning, and organizing agenda
  • Work closely with members, activists, and other stakeholders to identify and address key issues affecting the workforce
  • Represent the union in negotiations with management and other trade unions
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of campaigning, monitoring trends, and establishing and maintaining contacts
  • Progress national campaigning objectives as agreed by Annual Delegate Conference, Region/Nation, and Group conferences
Requirements
  • Experience in industrial relations, negotiations, and advocacy
  • Understanding of the political processes in the UK and the role and work of trade unions
  • Basic knowledge of employment rights, equality legislation, discrimination law, and working practices
  • Methods and techniques for bargaining, campaigning, and organizing
  • Ability to communicate effectively using written and oral channels, including reports and presentations, with a variety of audiences
