Position Overview

Located in London, the technical assistant intern will be integrated into a vibrant and fast-paced Geoscience division within the Perenco organization.

During the internship, the selected candidate will support the team with document management and intranet operations, while also contributing to the creation of analytical dashboards. This position entails developing interactive and insightful visualizations that promote data-driven decision-making within the Geoscience department.

Key Responsibilities

The intern's responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating effectively with the data management and application support teams within the Geoscience division.
  • Creating visual dashboards for thorough analytics.
  • Assisting in data reporting through the internal company intranet system.
  • Managing and processing geoscience data, including operations data warehousing, reporting, and analytics.
  • Facilitating data loading, transfer, and management across various databases and applications.
  • Coordinating with internal teams and external service providers to efficiently support application usage and invoice management.
  • Providing essential data and technical/application support to geoscientists, petrophysicists, and geophysicists to enhance their operational effectiveness.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential:

  • A degree in mathematics, sciences, engineering, programming, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency with SQL databases.
  • Experience with Power BI and other Microsoft applications.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Understanding of data management initiatives, including data cleansing, quality assurance, and data loading.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a thorough approach to tasks.
  • A strong collaborative spirit and team-oriented mindset.

Desirable:

  • Prior experience in a technical support or data management capacity.
  • A basic understanding of subsurface domains such as Geology, Geophysics, Reservoir Engineering, Petrophysics, and Wells.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and tools, such as Python.
