Job Overview

The Role

As a Relief Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in delivering professional and meticulous security services to our clients. Your responsibilities will include guarding, surveillance, and responding to incidents as required on a daily basis.

In this position, you will be stationed at various sites for our defence sector client, ensuring that security standards are upheld to the highest levels. You will act as a positive representative of Securitas, delivering services that meet and exceed expectations. Your proactive approach will be essential in managing standard operating procedures and responding to a variety of security and safety incidents.

Note: You will be supporting multiple sites. A valid driving licence and access to a personal vehicle are mandatory due to the nature of the role.

Your responsibilities as a Relief Security Officer will encompass:

  • Overseeing access control and security gate operations, including staff and vehicle inspections, traffic management, and building patrols.
  • Providing a visible security presence and a proactive response service.
  • Monitoring fire and security alarm systems.
  • Maintaining communication protocols and accurate records of all gate operations.
  • Responding to and managing all site-related risk events.
  • Conducting fire prevention activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with all client Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Essential Qualifications

To qualify as a Relief Security Officer at Securitas, you must:

  • Possess a valid SIA licence.
  • Hold a clean, full manual UK driving licence.
  • Be a British born national due to National Security requirements.
  • Provide valid proof of your right to work in the UK and successfully pass security clearance.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats.
  • Make informed decisions in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a reasonable level of fitness, as walking and foot patrols are required.
  • Exhibit flexibility and responsiveness to changing needs and urgencies.
  • Commit to delivering high levels of customer service.
