Job Summary:

The NEC Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Head Chef to join our team at Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for the production and delivery of high-quality food services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with Senior Head Chefs and Management to plan and execute food offers within designated areas of responsibility.
  • Supervise and manage a team of Chefs, Porters, and Agency Staff to ensure they are fully briefed, compliant, and knowledgeable within their designated work areas.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce labour, food cost, and wastage, ensuring costs are aligned with business unit budgets.
  • Monitor and maintain food quality, adhering to Departmental Specifications and bringing concerns to the attention of Senior Head Chefs.
  • Ensure Food Safety requirements are met, liaising with Amadeus Food and Safety Support Department as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Minimum City Guilds 7062 or NVQ Level 3 in a related field.
  • Intermediate Hygiene certification.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Full Clean Driving License and own transport (desired but essential).

  • Experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment and prioritize workload.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passionate commitment to delivering high-quality food services.
