We are looking for a seasoned Risk Management Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. This position offers a unique chance to influence the evolution of Risk Management and Assurance throughout the organization.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Quality, you will engage with a variety of stakeholders to integrate effective, reliable, and uniform Risk Management systems and procedures in accordance with the organization's Risk Management Strategy.

The successful candidate will possess a solid background in Risk Management, along with specialized expertise in Risk and Assurance, and a comprehensive understanding of risk management applications in healthcare environments. A degree or equivalent qualification, ideally in risk or governance, is preferred.

Main Responsibilities

• Support the formulation and execution of the Risk Management Strategy for the Trust, including the development and upkeep of the Trust Risk Register in a consultative role alongside Corporate Leads and Group Triumvirates.

• Coordinate the enhancement of risk management functions across the Trust, ensuring alignment with local, regional, and national guidelines.

• Lead initiatives to ensure that risk information systems are consistent with the principles outlined in the Risk Management Strategy, collaborating with system providers to enhance reporting capabilities.

• Oversee the Risk Committee's monthly activities and lead the preparation of escalation and assurance reports for the Board Sub Committees and Trust Board, ensuring transparency and oversight of risk.

• Foster relationships with staff to promote effective communication regarding risks and risk management, cultivating a culture of risk awareness throughout the organization.

• Regularly meet with senior colleagues, including Chief Officers and Non-Executives, to identify changes in risks and discuss assurance mechanisms and control measures.
