**Job Summary**

Reed Engineering & Manufacturing is seeking a skilled **Material Testing Planner** to coordinate the progress of test samples and results in line with material delivery schedules.

This role involves managing test orders and specifications on the laboratory's integrated management system, as well as liaising with internal and external customers on progress.

Main Responsibilities:

  • **Prioritize Test Programming**: Create test programs and schedules to ensure efficient testing.
  • **Expedite Tests**: Facilitate the testing process through the laboratory.
  • **Customer Liaison**: Communicate with production and external customers on test progress and changing demands.
  • **Schedule Monitoring**: Track schedule adherence and escalate any anomalies or excessive delays.
  • **Daily Product Meetings**: Attend daily meetings to discuss product progress.
  • **Laboratory Production Plans**: Control and manage laboratory production plans.
  • **Specification Management**: Add and update specifications on the Laboratory Integrated Management System.
  • **Sub-Contracted Operations**: Manage sub-contracted operations, including review and approval of sub-contract reports.
  • **Test Result Collation**: Collect and enter test results into the Laboratory Integrated Management System.
  • **Test Report Generation**: Generate test reports and export them to customers.
  • **Data Analysis**: Use Excel to create production deposition and bar charts.
  • **Housekeeping Standards**: Maintain high housekeeping standards and working standards.
  • **Continuous Improvement**: Participate in key continuous improvement activities and project work.

Requirements:

  • **Experience in Planning**: Proven experience in planning and coordination.
  • **Test Laboratory Experience**: Previous experience in a test laboratory is advantageous.
  • **Operational Understanding**: Operational understanding of mechanical, metallurgical, and/or chemical testing.
  • **Computer Skills**: Proficient use of computer systems and Microsoft packages.
  • **Numeracy and Literacy**: Good standard of numeracy and literacy.
  • **Teamwork**: Ability to work within a team and share knowledge.
