We are pleased to announce a rewarding opportunity for a part-time Youth Support Specialist to join our dedicated team at Victim Support. This role involves working 22.5 hours per week on a temporary basis.

Key Responsibilities:
This position is based at our office and will involve travel within the local area. As a Youth Support Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of self-referred or referred clients, delivering high-quality services that align with the goals of our commissioners.
  • Providing tailored support and information services to ensure that each client’s unique needs are met, with a focus on addressing complex issues.
  • Conducting risk and needs assessments to identify the specific requirements of clients, adhering to our operational procedures and safeguarding policies.
  • Offering information and advocacy to assist clients in navigating the criminal justice system, ensuring their rights are upheld in accordance with established guidelines.

Essential Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A solid understanding of the challenges faced by children and young people who experience adversity or crime.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality and safe working practices in line with safeguarding and data protection laws.
  • A proven track record of working with children or young people, or experience in supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to adjust your approach to meet the needs of diverse audiences.
  • The capability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage competing demands in an organized manner.
  • Strong IT and administrative skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • High resilience and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
